Jodie Kidd ‘Forget Yesterday, Life is About Tomorrow’

Speaking to Red Magazine, Jodie Kidd has revealed the horrors that went alongside her glamorous modelling career.  Kidd lost her contract with Marks and Spencer in 2007 when a tabloid paper exposed her for allegedly offering to buy cocaine to undercover reporters.

Kidd is now fighting her way back and has recently appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.  She tells the magazine, ‘Every single day is a learning curve. “There’s quite a lot of fight in me.”

Talking about panic attacks during her modelling days she says, “It’s easy to get swept up in the whole first-class Ritz lifestyle. And that’s not me. I hadn’t seen my best friend. I hadn’t gone to the pub. I hadn’t gone to the movies. Then I started getting panic attacks and I wasn’t quite sure why I was anxious, because I was working and earning.

‘But I just wasn’t happy. I wasn’t grounded. I needed to see my family. I needed to walk around in wellies and muck out a stable. I needed to get back to Jodie. Country Jodie.”

It’s good to have you back Jodie!

A Taste Of What’s To Come In 2009?

Well maybe, who knows?!

Spring Fashion 2009

More Body Art For Becks

David Beckham (*PATC swoons*) has added yet another tattoo to the zillions he already has.  This time he’s gone for a biblical proverb written in Hebrew, it reads “My son, do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your heart.”

A source has revealed to The Sun, “Victoria doesn’t think David should have any more tattoos and tried to stop him having another. She likes his tatts but wants a bit of his skin to be left, yet David went ahead with it anyway.

“She is worried he is hooked and she doesn’t know where it will all end. He is a very healthy bloke. He doesn’t smoke, barely drinks and looks after his body very carefully. But his addiction is tattoos. So while his insides are as clean as a whistle, his outsides are quite the opposite.”

Somehow we don’t think this will be the last…

(PS. and yes we do LOVE his new calendar)

The Catwalk Carnival

Get ready to party in style at London’s Seone Club at the Catwalk Carnival in aid of The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust (a charity which aims to boost awareness of depression whilst reducing the stigma of the illness). Fashion designers taking part in the event and donating outfits include Matthew Williamson, Lulu Guinness and Browns.

Event organiser Oonagh Weldon says, “The concept grew from a realisation that January is a bleak month in the year, with festive spirit giving way to a rather sober period of abstinence. Drawing inspiration from Rio carnival and New Orleans Mardi Gras, we wanted to create a luminous evening of fashion and music to brighten up the start of 2009.”

You can’t beat a good carnival, especially if it’s only a tube stop away!

January 15th 2009, tickets cost £35, click here for more details.

Chanel Cancel Travelling Mobile Art Tour

Karl Lagerfeld

Chanel have announced that their travelling Mobile Art tour will now not travel to London, Moscow and Paris as planned. A Chanel spokeswoman confirmed to WWD, “Considering the current economic crisis, we decided it was best to stop the project. We will be concentrating onstrategic growth investments.”

The project (which featured twenty artworks based on Chanel’s iconic 2.55 quilted handbag) was Karl Lagerfeld’s baby.  No stranger to the credit crunch, the optimistic designer said, “Today, everyone can say that something is for financial reasons when they want. For me, artistic reasons are more important. I always thought the building was a sculpture. I prefer it empty.”

As reported in Vogue.com it’s believed that ‘Hadid’s iconic pavilion will now be moved into the courtyard of a new factory being built outside of Paris, where it will be used for temporary exhibitions.’

Anyone else thinking of the Millenium Dome right now?  That’s doing OK…sometimes things really do work out for the best.

Christian Louboutin Goes All Out For Barbie

To celebrate Barbie’s 50th next year (looking good sister), shoe God Christian Louboutin is designing a range of shoes in the iconic Barbie Pantone 219 pink. Yes that’s correct - read it again!

The shoes will be showcased next February during New York fashion Week along with special Barbie inspired outfits.

Louboutin has said, “Guess I always had a little ‘girlie side’ who liked Barbie. Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes.’

Somebody give that man an award. High five!

Rihanna knows how to shop

Rihanna clocked up a £10,000 shopping bill in under an hour at Harvey Nics before performing at Capital Radio’s Jingle Bell Ball at the weekend.

Now there’s a girl who doesn’t give a stuff about the credit crunch!

Bijou Phillips V. Michelle Obama

Actress Bijou Phillips has spoken out against Michelle Obama’s Election Night ‘Narciso Rodriguez’ dress:

“It made her look fat. It wasn’t her best dress. It didn’t fit her properly. And she can look awesome. She needs stuff that’s cut on the bias, and that dress wasn’t … I love Michelle Obama. If you print that you need to print that I would have voted for her. And that I think she’s a great dresser, except for that one dress.”

Say what you feel love, say what you feel….

In these shoes?

We know just what you mean….
